When you Arrive at Entebbe airport, you will be met by a Hawthorn Safaris Explorer and briefed about your safari on your way to your hotel. If your flight happens to be early, you’ll take a short trip through Mabamba Swamps on Lake Victoria. You will be able to see a Shoebill stork and other birds, and you will spend the afternoon at UWEC, home to captive animals and over 170 species of birds.
After breakfast, we will head to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stop over the Equator, take pictures, shop for a souvenir, and have lunch in Mbarara. We continue to the southwest and head to western rift valley arrive queen Elizabeth time for the evening game drive and later check in our accommodation at the park
After breakfast will go for a game drive and bird view as we leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and proceed to the area that is often referred to as “Little Switzerland of Uganda”. Here you will find Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda situated close to the borders. On a bright day, you might even see the beautifully shaped volcano Mount Muhavura. Upon arrival at the “Lake of the Small Birds,” a motorboat awaits you for transport to Bushara Island.
After breakfast, we take a canoe and explore the waters. Drift quietly to the small islands and enjoy the birdlife. Come back for late lunch relax and later go for a birdwalk in Mukoni village Pass small farms and enjoy the spectacular view as you look out for many birds. Generally, 40 to 50 different species may be seen on this walk, including the African Hobby, Black Kite, Swamp Flycatcher, Scarlet-chested, Bronze and Red-chested Sunbirds, White-headed Saw-wing
After breakfast, we return towards the capital city, with lunch en route. The drive takes about 7 hours but runs through beautiful countryside.
