A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.
Lorem Ipsum decided to leave for the far World of Grammar. The Big Oxmox advised her not to do so, because there were thousands of bad Comma wild Question Marks and devious Semikoli, but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way. When she reached the first hills of t

Upon arriving in Kenya’s buzzing capital of Nairobi, you’ll be whisked away to Giraffe Manor for an overnight stay. Known as one of the most ‘Instagrammed’ properties in Africa, Giraffe Manor is a grand old estate located within 140 acres of indigenous forest. Steal a moment to relax in the magnificent gardens or lounge on the sunny terrace with an ice-cold drink. The resident herd of Rothschild’s giraffes may visit at any time, poking their long necks into the manor house’s windows in the hope of something to eat… an extraordinary experience and a real treat for the kids!
Set dramatically on the edge of the Mara Triangle escarpment overlooking the acacia-dotted plains, Angama Mara Lodge provides the ultimate family setup for your Kenyan safari. Welcoming children of six years and older, there are four family suites split between two separate camps. From here you can enjoy a mix of multi-generational family activities, both at camp and in the surrounding wilderness. Guided 4×4 game drives offer the chance to encounter large herds of game and as many as 570 bird species. Buffalo and rhino are often found grazing in the thickets while elephant are easily spotted in the open woodland. Depending on when you visit, Angama Mara will also provide your family with front-row seats to the annual Great Migration when more than two million wildebeest, zebra and antelope make the arduous journey from Tanzania’s Serengeti into the Mara Triangle. Spend time between safari outings cooling off in the pool, having a massage or gym in the fitness centre. For some helpful critique on your wildlife snaps, visit the photographic studio where a professional will offer some technical advice to help you improve. Private dinners can be arranged in the shamba – a mini-farm at the lodge which offers an authentic ‘garden-to-table’ dining experience. Or how about a hot-air balloon ride for some aerial game viewing or a guided cultural visit to a nearby Masai village? Whatever you desire, rest assured that Angama Mara will accommodate your family’s needs, even offering child-minding services if you need a break from the kids.
Swop the bush for the beach when you fly into the tropical retreat of Hemingway’s Watamu, a bespoke hotel on Kenya’s coast with white-sand beaches and cerulean waters. From your family suite near the beach, you are well-positioned to enjoy water-based activities such as deep-sea fishing for marlin, humpback whale watching or spotting families of bottlenose dolphins in the protected marine park waters. For a mind-blowing underwater perspective, Watamu’s colourful coral reefs offer some of the best snorkelling and diving found anywhere on the East African coastline. Back on shore, there’s plenty more to keep the whole family entertained or you can choose to do nothing more than relax with a cocktail in hand if that’s what you prefer. Two teardrop-shaped pools offer some respite from the heat of the day and the hotel’s shaded terrace is the best place to soak up the postcard ocean views. At the Watamu spa, you can treat yourself to a selection of African-inspired skincare and massage treatments to reinvigorate and recharge after another exciting day in Africa.
